Aiko's yummy blueberry pie
Aiko shared her blueberry pie recipe, too!   Well truthfully, I think the pie crust is the better part of the recipe than the filling. I would probably try to find a different recipe if I ever make blueberry pie in the future, but using the same crust. (She’s lying. The filling was fantastic. And like I said, I don’t even like blueberries.) Pie Crust: Roll out the dough 1/8”...

Amirite?) and happened upon this review of the book: “This book is a good one to read if you live with someone who has also read it. This way, any time there is a lull in the conversation you can talk about how depressing it is.” I’m not...

Dinner conversation
My grandpa motions toward the sweet and sour pork on the table and tells us what it is, in Cantonese. Dad (translating):  ’Ancient pork.’  Because they use up leftovers and refry it. Mom:  What?  I always thought it meant some ancient RECIPE.

– writes Paul Graham, whose essay The Top Idea in Your Mind argues that thinking in the shower isn’t just fucking around. In fact, it’s the key to doing your most creative work. What I think resonated so strongly about Steve Jobs’ quote on creativity, which made huge waves on the internet a few weeks...

Faux pas
Context: Roadtripping to LA with Amanda, Laura, and Sonia. For the majority of central California, we are talking about names we like/dislike. A lot of Jessicas, Angelas, Felicias, etc are coming up. Me: Yeah, I just don’t like names ending in A. Amanda: Uh, Amanda? Laura: LAURA? Sonia: SONIA?!? … Everyone: OUT OF THE CAR NOW Strike 1.
